I would just use the HDMI-out port of the MBPr to drive the monitor, but I'd like to run two identical monitors through the two MiniDisplay ports for a dual screen setup. More confusingly, the monitor WILL work perfectly when run through the MiniDisplay port of a NON-retina 13" Macbook Pro with the same MiniDisplay to HDMI cable. There are no Mac drivers available for download on the Asus support website. I've tried with three different MiniDisplay/HDMI cables, all with the same result. The monitor will work when using the Macbook’s HDMI port, but when I use a MiniDisplay to HDMI cable to try and drive it through the MiniDisplay port, the monitor can't detect any signal, and the Macbook screen goes black temporarily every few seconds as long as the cable is plugged in. The MBPr has two Thunderbolt/MiniDisplay ports and one HDMI port.
